A team of 29 experts conducted on-site surveys on key joint projects such as Jingantuo Pump Station, Shengzhong Reservoir and Youde Tunnel, and conducted serious and full discussions on 12 topics including planning, hydraulic engineering and migration. The principles of preliminary design report were reviewed by the expert group.

The West Chongqing Water Resources Allocation Project is a major livelihood water conservancy project with the largest investment, the most extensive involvement and the largest beneficiary population (nearly 10 million people) since Chongqing was directly administered. It has received the same policy support of the national "172 Major water conservancy projects" and has been included in the list of 150 national major water conservancy projects to be implemented from 2020 to 2022. The investment plan for 2020 is 2.5 billion yuan, of which the central government will invest 1.13 billion yuan.
The water resources allocation project in western Chongqing adopts the overall arrangement plan of "large concentration, small group and group". The water supply area covers Yongchuan, Dazu, Rongchang, Bishan, Tongnan, Tongliang, Hechuan, Beibei, Jiulongpo, Shapingba, Jiangjin District north of the Yangtze River and Chongqing High-tech Zone, covering an area of 12,500 square kilometers. The project consists of 9 water source pumping stations, 5 pressure stations, 8 secondary pump stations, 445km water transmission line, and three new online storage reservoirs including Shengzhong, Concentric Bridge and Qianqiu Yan. Through the construction of the Yangtze River, Jialing River and other water lifting projects to supply water to urban and rural life and industry in western Chongqing, taking into account the improvement of river ecological environment water in the water demand areas, and the return of agricultural irrigation water that has been occupied, the annual average water transfer after completion is 1.012 billion m, providing water resources guarantee for accelerating the development of Chengdu-Chongqing twin city economic circle.
According to the relevant person in charge of Chongqing Water Resources Bureau, the main task at present is to strengthen communication and coordination, speed up the completion of preliminary design approval and other preliminary work, synchronous start all the preparatory work, as soon as possible to realize the main project to fully start construction, to ensure the completion of the annual objectives and tasks, for the city's "six stability" "six protection" work to make new contributions.
